Nordic World likes Monday’s slate

Distributor Nordic World has agreed a far-reaching deal with Danish production outfit Monday Media to represent its programming.

Nordic World’s first-look deal with Monday Media will see it represent the producer’s entire format, ready-made and drama catalogues including previous programming and forthcoming series.

The TV2-owned distributor has also extended its deal with Norway’s Feelgood Scene Film & TV, with the two agreements adding around 200 hours of new content to Nordic World’s slate.

Shows from both firms will be on Nordic World’s slate at Mipcom next month, including Meet n’ Eat from Monday Media, which was formerly represented by Banijay International. Feelgood’s slate includes mockumentary Totally Perfect, which is into its fifth season on Discovery Norway.

Espen Huseby, CEO of Nordic World, said the producers “represent the best of Nordic creativity” and added that the content “is not only clever and compelling but it’s also been tried and tested in a fiercely competitive local market.”

Morten Bank, MD of Monday Media, added: “This new relationship with Nordic World marks a step change for Monday, as we ramp up our investment in original content with international appeal. Our focus on agenda-setting documentary, engaging lifestyle and factual entertainment, and innovative comedy is a perfect fit with Nordic World’s catalogue.”

The Nordic distributor, which had been expanding its operations over the past few years, reshuffled its senior management team in June following the departure of Jan Salling, director of sales and chief operating officer.
